5 HOTEL ETIQUETTES FOR GUESTS

ETIQUETTES FOR GUESTS

When traveling solo or looking for a Villas in Bali, travelers have expectations from their hotel experience. Not just it is vital to have a relaxing place to sleep, good staff and amenities like hairdryers, ice, and breakfast are also expected. While hotel staff members are willing to give guests as best experience as possible, there are some hotel etiquettes travelers should consider.

Make Advance Hotel Reservations

Make your reservations in advance to avoid running the risk of the hotel being booked, being placed on a waiting list, or not getting your preferred accommodation. On the before your scheduled arrival, call the hotel to make sure you are still on the roster.

Check Hotel’s Pet Policy

If you are willing to travel with your pet, let the hotel management know about your reservations. Though some hotels don’t allow pets, others may have some policies about the size or breed of the animal you can bring. If they cannot accommodate your pet, you may have to leave your pet with your family or friend or look for a new option.

Give Tips

Tipping the people who clean your room and help you stay stress-free and comfortable in the hotel won’t cost you a fortune. While you are staying in the hotel, don’t forget to tip the parking valet, doorman, porter, concierge, cleaning staff, and restaurant servers. Giving a few dollars to these people won't make them any richer, but tipping helps.

Respect Housekeeping Staff

People who clean your room deserve respect. Whether you have a 2 room or a 3 bedroom villa in Bali, the housekeeping staff has a lot of rooms that need to be serviced, and you may not want to slow them down with your conversations. Make sure not to answer the door unless you are fully dressed or ask them to return later.
You can make their job easier effortlessly. Before you leave your room for the day, put your dirty towels in a pile at one spot in the bathroom. Dispose of the trash in a bin and not leaving it lying around.

Don’t Overstay Your Welcome

Many hotels leave checkout information on a closed circuit TV which can only be seen inside your room or a printout which is slipped quietly under your door the morning you are scheduled to check out. Make sure all your charges are fine. If there is no issues, simply return your key to the front desk when it’s time to depart. If an issue arises, let the front desk know in a polite manner and wait until the issue is resolved.
